Fresh Earth Gardens LLC, is a dynamic organization devoted to furthering the local food movement through Growing, Teaching, Consulting & Product Development. What started out as a passion for growing & selling first-rate vegetables has evolved into an effort that can help bring fresh vegetables to any part of the world.
By constantly focusing on results and developing innovative ways to produce fresh food, we have enhanced traditional methods of agriculture with the best of modern knowledge. These techniques of growing stay true to agrarian philosophies, yet are robust enough to compete in today’s marketplace. This includes our advancements in Biological Agriculture, Container Culture, Season Extension Systems, Appropriate Tools, Business Planning and Production Efficiencies.
By working with us, you can take the next step in building local food systems.
What we offer is an opportunity for everyone to get involved in the Local Food Movement. Through our consulting services we have laid out a proven process for identifying demand, and developing a production system to service that demand. Through our class offerings, we have cleared a path for anyone to learn the skills needed to become an effective grower of Organic produce. Our product development team specializes in the development of tools that increase efficiency and allow produce to be grown in challenging environments.
Our specialties are fourfold, and have been demonstrated on a number of past projects. First, we transform open land into efficient production spaces capable of producing some of the finest produce available. Second,we teach groups and individuals the skills needed to transform open ground into efficient production spaces. Third, we help existing growers refine their techniques to become more efficient and profitable. Lastly, we research new methods of production, and refine our reseach into practical techniques and usable products ofr adoption by the industry.
The production methods we utilize and teach are rooted in the techniques of such Organic farming pioneers such as JR Rodale, Masanabu Fukuoka, John Jeavons, and Eliot Coleman, and evolved to stay up to date with industry knowledge. This includes using certified seed when possible, no genetic modification, and hte use of biological and physical forms of weed control, IPM, and soil fertility, adn advanced year round growing methods. These techniques are combined as a working system in our Biological Agriculture Methodology that relies on Biological diversity as the foundation for the health of the garden.
In 2010 we begain our Extreme Growing Initiative, and we are now currently working with organizations that can help us take full season and harsh climate growing to the next level. Our current research efforts are directed toward combining the next generation of emerging technologies with our biological agriculture methodology. These efforts are beginning to bear fruit and in the next few years we will be offering production systems to areas with no source of fresh water, sub-zero environments, & areas devoid of healthy soils. Additionally, these technologies are showing promise in enhancing the areas of disease suppression, superior plant health, insect divestion, and more. Please contact us to learn more about these exciting developments, or to be a part of the research efforts.
We believe that Nature is the ultimate teacher and that we are humble servants to her efforts.
